Agricultural Drainage Management Systems Task Force
A Partnership Management Team (PMT) of the US Department of Agriculture

The major partner of the ADMC is the "Agricultural Drainage Management Systems Task Force," (ADMS) which is comprised of scientists and planners from the USDA's Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Cooperative State Agriculture Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES), and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Also on the ADMS Task Force are state employees (primarily from Land Grant Universities) who work in soil and water conservation.

The three agencies of NRCS, CSREES and ARS have issued a charter for the ADMS. It has also published a brochure for the public, conservation and research communities. In addition, it has published a white paper providing an overview of NRCS Practice Standard 554, “Drainage Water Management” and other information.

The ADMC and the ADMS are working closely together to develop demonstration sites in states in the upper Midwest. They are building locally-led coalitions to support these demonstration sites and assist in educating producers and landowners about drainage water management.

The ADMS holds meetings every quarter to review progress in obtaining their goals and to plan future activities with the ADMC and state coalition members.

Other Partners

The ADMC works at the state and local level to educate farm, drainage and conservation groups as well as local, state and federal authorities to build an understanding of drainage water management. Also, the ADMC calls on partners to help identify potential sites where drainage water management could be deployed.
